The Russian Kindjal is a military issue version which served the Russian armed forces well into the mid-20th century. This curved, double-edge blade was perfect as a close combat weapon. It originated in the Georgian Republic of Russia, but was best known as a Cossack weapon. The blade measuring 17 1/4″ long is hand forged from a high carbon steel billet at 1 3/8″ wide. The full slab tang is equip with real wood scales making this impressive short sword or long dagger measure nearly 2 feet in length. The Cossacks would all serve the military for a mandatory 20 years. Cossacks were highly admired for their equestrian skills by the early Russian military.
