Replicating a surviving museum piece the Lowlander by Cas/Hanwei is a beautiful example of the 16th century lowlands claymore. These were known as “Slaughter Swords” and at nearly six feet in length these massive swords were favourites amongst Scottish mercenaries. These mighty Scott’s or “Swords for Hire” would wield these swords with an untamed ferocity on the Gaelic battlefields striking fear in to all of their opponents before ultimately striking them down.
Forged For Battle
Though these are some of the largest sword available, the Lowlander is beautifully proportioned and balanced making it surprisingly easy to maneuver. The typically Scottish quatrefoils in the ring guards attest to the heritage of this imposing piece. This piece is hand forged and as tough as the originals that they replicate. This historical sword is forged for the battlefield however; a custom wall mount is provided to display this sword with pride in the man cave. Due to the size of this sword it ships unassembled but is easily be constructed.
